Kintore Farm is a 450ha effective, 1640 cow, seasonal dairy operation based in Carew, Mid Canterbury suppying Fonterra Co-Operative.

boots 1Kintore Farm is owned by the Waddington, MacFarlane, Rodwell, and Hoogeveen families. The operation is run as two separate dairy units; Wainui Dairy, and Campbell Block, along with the Newparks and Broadfields support blocks.

Each Dairy Unit is run by a separate farm manager, has it's own staff, and infrastructure. 

The General Manager, Nick Hoogeveen provides support and along with Eion Johnston and Lance Evans, the maintenance people work across all the properties. 

Cows are wintered off at the Newparks and Broadfields support blocks 5kms away on kale and fodderbeet.

Each staff member plays a very important role in achieving our goals and targets as a team, because we believe in this Kintore Farm Ltd places an big emphasis on the coaching and development of our people with the assistance of Coach Approach and AgITO.

The farms are fully spray irrigated with water from the Rangitata Diversion Race via Mayfield-Hinds Irrigation Ltd

Pasture harvested per ha drives our profitability and "Grass is King"; weekly farm walks are done with the tow-behind pasture meter on each farm. This information is used to plan grazing and supplement use for the following week.

We are involved in testing and development of the Conedose in shed mineral feeding system with Winton Stock Feed.

Doug Lowry is responsible for design, planting, and maintenance of our shelter and gardens on the farm and around bulidings, we use plants with an empasis on maximising shelter for stock and habitats for bees and native birds.
